Inspired by the primal palette of the land, I’m drawn to playing with the colors around us, creating a bond between tones to reach a sense of harmony the eye can feel, as it resonates beyond the visual. My work is rooted in the experience of being within a space.
Raised between the sea, the desert, and the city – and born into a multicultural family – I’ve always existed between two countries. This in-betweenness shaped my eye: the way I understand the world we live in, and the way I see aesthetics.
In my work, I combine the modern world I’m part of with the heritage I come from. Each project is shaped by a shared process – fully integrating one’s needs and story, giving every space its own identity.

I opened Shams Boutique before I ever called myself a designer. I was 20. I traveled across Egypt to collect pieces for my first collection, guided purely by instinct and a deep connection to craft and material. Along the way, I collaborated with local artisans and designers, supporting independence through craft - especially in remote regions where these handmade traditions are part of a fading heritage. It was the beginning of something far greater than I imagined.
A few years later, I designed and built my first architecture project - an 80 sqm open-space mud house. Constructed using mud bricks and following traditional Egyptian building techniques, it was designed to sustain the challenges of both the desert and the sea. Each interior element, from the pillowcases to the kitchen, was thoughtfully designed for this house. To experience architecture in its most pure and primal form opened my heart to it. That’s when I realized I wanted to understand it more deeply, so I chose to study it formally. The unique experience in that project still lives with me in everything I create today.
Right after my studies, I got the opportunity to desgin a garden house, built entirely by its owners. This project explored the most ancient human ability - to build one's own home - while maintaining professionalism and unique interrior desgin aesthetics. The result is a home that stands beautifully in its surroundings but also radiates an energy that every visitor can feel the moment they step inside.
